Could this really say “Handmade Gluten Free Pasta”? I’ve encountered gluten free packet pasta before, but never delicate strands rolled and cut by hand each day at the restaurant. For anyone avoiding gluten, discovering genuinely handmade pasta feels like a small culinary miracle.
Gemelli is operated by twin brothers from Griffith who learned rustic, home-style Italian cooking from their nona. Despite the restaurant’s sleek, contemporary fit-out and modern kitchen, the menu remains faithful to authentic Italian flavours and traditional techniques.
I’d been looking forward to the handmade pasta—my last taste of true hand-prepared pasta was eight years ago. When the gluten free fettuccine with slow-cooked oxtail and pork ragu arrived, it drew admiring glances from the whole table. The pasta itself was tender and silky, and the rich ragu clung to every strand, offering deep, satisfying flavour.

On the salad front, the cabbage, pea, mint and Reggiano combination stood out—crisp textures and a bright medley of flavours. The caprese was also excellent, featuring ripe tomatoes and fragrant basil that kept the preparation wonderfully simple and true to its roots.
The menu is extensive and accommodates a wide range of diners. Families, working professionals, locals and trendsetters all come here for the same reason: honest, flavoursome homemade Italian food. Gemelli delivers on that promise.

Gluten Free Friendly
Gluten-free options are clearly marked, making ordering straightforward. Handmade gluten free pasta is available, and the kitchen now stretches gluten free pizza bases by hand as well. While gluten free pizza wasn’t available on my last visit, it’s an encouraging development for those seeking authentic gluten free Italian dishes.
Ambience
Warm, family friendly and welcoming.
