Classic Strawberry Daiquiri Recipe: Fresh, Fruity Cocktail How-To

This Strawberry Daiquiri recipe is ideal for hot summer days when you’re picturing yourself on a tropical beach. The ingredients are simple, yet the result is vibrant, fruity, and incredibly refreshing. You can make this frozen daiquiri with rum for adults or swap in a lemon-lime soda for a kid-friendly virgin version.

Strawberry Daiquiri Recipe

After a recent Caribbean cruise where my husband and I enjoyed some unforgettable strawberry daiquiris, I set out to recreate that sweet, bright flavor at home. This version is close to what we had on the ship—icy, fruity, and perfectly balanced with lime. It’s one of my go-to drinks on warm days when I’m daydreaming about the Caribbean.

Ingredients for Strawberry Daiquiri

  • 16 oz frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water)
  • 1/2 cup Sprite for a virgin daiquiri or light rum for an alcoholic version
  • Juice from 1½ limes
  • Fresh strawberry slices and lime wedges for garnish

How to make a strawberry daiquiri

  • Make simple syrup: combine 1/4 cup water and 1/4 cup granulated sugar in a small saucepan. Heat over medium-high until it reaches a gentle boil and the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool.
  • Place frozen strawberries, sliced fresh strawberries, cooled simple syrup, 1/2 cup Sprite (for a virgin drink) or 1/2 cup light rum (for an alcoholic daiquiri), and the lime juice into a blender or food processor.
  • Blend until smooth and creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides if needed.
  • Pour into chilled glasses and garnish with strawberry slices and lime wedges. Serve immediately.

What is a simple syrup?

Simple syrup is a basic sweetener used in cocktails, iced tea, lemonade, and other cold beverages. It’s made from equal parts water and granulated sugar heated just until the sugar dissolves. Once cooled, store simple syrup in the refrigerator for up to 30 days.
