My friend Adrianna from Hey June and Crafterhours sent me the digital pattern for the Narita Dress a few months ago. I finally had time to sew it last week, and I’m completely in love with how it turned out.

My daughter Addison has become a dress-lover — she practically lives in them. This Narita Dress is a favorite; she even wears it to bed.

The pattern itself is professional and thoughtfully written. Whenever I paused to wonder whether a step—like serging seams—was required at a particular point, the next sentence in the instructions had the answer. Adrianna’s directions remove the guesswork: each step is clear and placed in the order you need it, so you can sew with confidence and avoid common frustrations. The illustrations and pattern pieces are precise and easy to follow, making the whole process smooth and enjoyable.

I particularly love the longer skirt length and the handy side pockets. The gathered bodice gives the chance to combine three different fabrics, which adds visual interest. I added piping between the bodice and the skirt for a bright pop of color, and it turned out just as I hoped.

I sized up for Addison, so the straps were slightly long. I folded and stitched them under at the back for now; those stitches can be removed later as she grows, so the dress should fit for another year or two. I’m thrilled with that flexibility.
