Why are peanut butter desserts so irresistible? The nutty richness, silky mouthfeel, and the combination of sweet and salty flavors make them hard to resist. How to make Reese’s pieces peanut butter blondies

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper and spray the paper lightly with nonstick spray.
  2. Whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and creamy peanut butter until smooth. Add the granulated and brown sugars and whisk to combine, then mix in the egg and vanilla until incorporated.
  4. With the mixer on low, slowly add the dry ingredients and mix until just combined; do not overmix.
  5. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and most of the Reese’s Pieces (reserve some to sprinkle on top). Transfer the dough to the prepared pan and press it firmly and evenly into the pan.
  6. Bake the blondies at 350°F for 20 minutes. Allow them to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Crumbly dough? A slightly crumbly dough is fine—when pressed into the pan it will come together and set while baking.

Recipe FAQ

What kind of peanut butter should I use?

Use a creamy, no-stir peanut butter for the best texture. Natural peanut butter that separates in the jar tends to be too oily and can change the batter consistency. Crunchy peanut butter has not been tested in this recipe.

Can I use M&M’s instead?

Yes. Any similarly sized chocolate candy will work—M&M’s or other candy pieces can be substituted for Reese’s Pieces.

Can I freeze blondies?

Yes. Once fully cooled, wrap the blondies tightly in plastic wrap and aluminum foil and freeze for up to one month. Thaw in the refrigerator before bringing them to room temperature to serve.

  • 3/4  cup  (150 g) packed brown sugar
  • teaspoon vanilla extract
  • large egg
  • cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
  • teaspoon baking soda
  • Tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2  teaspoon salt
  • 1/2  cup (87 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup (200 g) Reese’s Pieces, divided

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350° F. Line an 8″ square pan with parchment and spray with nonstick spray.
