We love heading out for strawberry picking at the start of summer.

Equally enjoyable is sitting outside soaking up the sun with a cold drink in hand.

This easy strawberry lemonade combines the best of both: ripe strawberries and a chilled glass of citrusy refreshment.

Ingredients

You’ll need:

  • Lemonade mix – Your favorite store-bought brand, prepared to make 2 quarts following package directions.
  • Fresh strawberries – Reserve some whole berries for garnish and hull the rest for muddling.
  • Sugar – Optional, to adjust sweetness to taste.
  • Lemon slices – Optional, for garnish.

A muddling tool (or a sturdy wooden spoon) makes breaking down the strawberries easy.

How to Make

1. Prepare the lemonade mix according to the package to yield about 2 quarts and place it in a pitcher.

2. Pour roughly 1/2 cup of the prepared lemonade into a glass.

3. Add a handful of hulled strawberries to the glass and, if desired, a spoonful of sugar.

4. Muddle the strawberries into the lemonade until they’re mostly broken down and juicy.

5. Pour the muddled strawberry mixture back into the pitcher and repeat the process with more lemonade and berries until all the strawberries have been incorporated.

6. Chill the pitcher for a short while, then serve over ice. Garnish each glass with lemon slices and whole strawberries for a pretty finish.

Enjoy this cool, fruity drink on warm days.

Storing

Keep the lemonade covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Stir gently before serving since the fruit may settle.

Tips and Tricks

  • If you prefer a different berry, try raspberries, blackberries, or blueberries in the same method.
  • Sugar is optional—add it only if you like a sweeter drink. The amount depends on your taste and the sweetness of the strawberries.
  • You can make this with any premade lemonade or with homemade lemonade if you prefer a fully from-scratch version.

  • lemon slices for garnish
  • whole strawberries for garnish

Instructions
