Halloween decorations tend to fall into two categories: dramatic and spooky, or simple and sweet. With young children at home, I prefer decorations that are cute and family-friendly rather than frightening. I enjoy seeing bold, elaborate displays, but in my own house I keep things minimal, cozy, and approachable.

I first spotted Target’s Hyde & Eek! Boutique collection before it reached stores and knew my kids would love it. A quick trip down the Halloween aisle turned into an enthusiastic haul—my husband Jose was amused when he opened the trunk and found pumpkin dolls and little birds spilling out. I’ll share a full tour of our home decorations soon; expect a simple, cute, and easy-to-style Halloween look.
Most of my favorite finds are from Target’s Hyde & Eek! collection. I chose pieces that work well together: neutral tones, small pops of orange, and playful characters that make the season feel festive without being spooky.
My favorite piece? That smiling ghost—so cheerful and charming.

Some standout items I’m loving right now include: black garland, a simple wreath, a variety of decorative birds, a pumpkin-head doll, geometric white pumpkins, faux spiders for a touch of whimsy, Halloween garlands, a small candelabra, felt wreaths, triangle-shaped pumpkins, Halloween cloches, a happy fabric ghost, a rustic wooden bowl, white accent pumpkins, and bow accents in black, white, and orange, plus mini orange pumpkins that are perfect for corralled displays.
On my mantel I combined a bright orange garland with a few bird accents and a skeleton doll for a playful nod to Halloween. I kept the display grounded with a wooden bowl holding five mini orange pumpkins. The result feels seasonal and charming without going overboard.
UPDATE: My Fall + Halloween home tour is now available on the blog and showcases how I styled these pieces throughout the house.
